About Us

The KCA University Professional Technical Training Institute (PTTI) has a transformative history, originating in 1989 as the Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA). Established by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) to address the shortage of professional accountants in the country, KCA quickly became a premier CPA training institution. Through its strong partnership with ICPAK, KCA has produced over 40% of Kenya’s professional accountants, setting a benchmark in certification excellence.

In 2007, recognizing its growing influence and the impact of its initiatives, KCA transitioned from a college to KCA University. Despite this transition, the University remained committed to its original mission of offering professional programs, which continued under the then School of Professional Programs.

In 2017, KCA University established the KCAU Professional and Technical Training Institute to meet the growing demand for vocational and technical training. Beyond finance and accounting, the Institute now offers programs in food and beverage production, ICT, and other emerging fields. It integrates blended learning, proficiency certification programs, and work-based training, ensuring graduates gain both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise.

Aligned with Kenya’s Vision 2030, the SDGs, and the African Union Agenda 2063, KCAU PTTI continues to drive innovation in technical education. With market-driven, technology-enhanced programs, it equips professionals with future-ready skills for the evolving digital economy. Guided by its mission of preparing graduates to excel in the global workforce and drive transformative impact PTTI remains a leader in vocational and technical training, equipping graduates with the skills needed to thrive in the technology-driven workforce of Industry 4.0.
