Course Overview
A Diploma in Human Resource Management is a specialized program that provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the field of human resources.
Who Can Join
To be eligible for admission, the applicant must be a holder of one of the following:
Entry Qualifications
- KCSE certificate with at least C- plain aggregate minimum
- Holders of KCA university certificate in any business course with at least 2 GPA points
- Any other qualification(s) that may be approved by the university senate.
Duration & Structure of The Programme
- The DPM programme comprises Five (5) trimesters offered in One and a half (1½) calendar years.
- Courses shall be offered in terms of units, one unit being defined as a series of 35 one-hour lectures. For this purpose, a one-hour lecture is equivalent to a two-hour tutorial or a three-hour practical period, or an equivalent amount of other assigned study or practical experience of any combination of these:
- Based on individual preference a student can register for a maximum of SEVEN (7) course units per trimester (except in Trimester One, where there are six subjects). The minimum number of units a student can register per trimester is THREE (3) provided that all the required units are covered within a maximum of THREE
- The normal duration for the programme shall be 1½ calendar YEARS and not more than THREE calendar years.
- There shall be ONE Industrial attachment of 8 weeks.
- A Student MUST pass the first trimester, which is a basic trimester for this programme (i.e. No carryover from this trimester).
